Record a payment, no invoice needed
For a session already paid, cash on the day or a straight bank transfer: this writes the session and the payment together, all settled, nothing else to do. The amount fills itself from the hours and their rate, and you can type over it. (Money against an invoice you've served is recorded on the invoice itself instead.)
Start a new invoice
Pick who it's for. The amount starts at their ledger balance, and everything on the draft can be edited before it's served.
Add a ledger row
For anything the quick doors don't cover: a correction, a refund or bank clawback (type a minus amount in £ received), or a session or note by hand. It joins the client's ledger; nothing already served ever changes.
The money landed
Note it here and it goes on the ledger; the invoice shows as paid once it's covered.
The rows on the page: sessions, hours, discounts
Every line in the table: sessions, payments and notes. Rows locked by a served invoice can't change; everything else can, including hours. Save a row and the preview redraws.
